Work Site: UBC Hospital - Vancouver, BCStart Date: As Soon As Possible Salary: $34.50 - $42.29 per hour Hours: 0830-1630, some evenings and weekends may be required Reference#: 030677 The BC OSI Clinic provides specialized mental health services to clients and their families referred by Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Department of National Defense (DND), who are experiencing problems due to work-related psychological trauma and stress (e.g. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other anxiety disorders; depression; chronic pain, etc). The services of the BC OSI Clinic are provided by an interdisciplinary team of psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work and external contracted specialists.Within the context of an innovative Mental Health & Addiction partnership service, client centered care model and in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) standards of professional practice, Code of Ethics and the established vision and values of the organization, the Nurse Clinician acts as a clinical resource for nurses by providing information based on specialized theory and practice. In addition, provides continuity of care by case managing Veterans, Canadian Forces members and RCMP members referred to the BC Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic, provides client intake, triage and health status monitoring, liaises with other team members, coordinates ongoing care and supports transition to the community or other health care facility. Consults, confers, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources and other health care professionals to achieve excellence in client centred care, education and research. Collaborates with other staff on the development of client service plans and on the delivery of a range of client services and program activities (e.g. education and treatment groups, outreach, community education, and research).QUALIFICATIONS:Baccalaureate in Nursing plus five years recent clinical nursing experience in post-traumatic stress disorders, mood and anxiety disorders or related area, preferably in a military or police services environment, working with members of the military or police forces, and their families or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Current practising registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
