The incumbent is responsible for mechanical ventilatory management, CPAP/Bi-Level ventilation, aerosolized medication administration, bronchial hygiene, airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, diagnostic testing such as spirometry, EKGs, pulse oximetry, bronchoscopy assistance, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting the Supervisor, Cardiopulmonary Services to assure Quality Improvement in Cardiopulmonary Services. As part of the Health care to patients. In addition, the incumbent will assist in planning and implementing effective educational programs for in-services, orientation, continuing education, and other personnel training in cardiopulmonary care. The incumbent participates in the training of respiratory therapy staff, medical students, house staff, nursing staff, other medical enter personnel, and patients. The respiratory therapist assists in updating manuals and procedures, recommending policies and delivery and stocking of all parts and supplies required by the section.
