Computing is performed in a small and midrange IBM server environment, including multiple VERITAS software products, large tape library subsystems, many tape backup technologies, storage area networks, Network attached storage, massive arrays of idle disks and hierarchical storage management. Come join a stellar team and help us take this environment to the next level! Responsibilities: Support and maintain the backup and recovery environment including evening and weekend work. Tasks include: monitoring environments, configuring clients and servers, performing restores, testing, resolving complex issuesSupport and advise management in making strategic and tactical backup and restore decisionsDevelop strategies to maximize the 24/7/365 availability of critical online information systemsProvide direction, assistance, cross-training and troubleshooting insights to co-workersPrepare and implement proper procedures to ensure optimum system integrity and data availabilityInterface with multiple backup and restore vendors, partners, and internal Intermountain business units Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related computer science field, or 4+ years equivalent work experience in systems administrationExperience working in open system platforms, such as AIX, Solaris, Linux.Experience working in windows system environments.Experience working with SAN, NAS, Fiber, and NDMP.Experience in various backup methodologies, backup software, tape drives, tape libraries, tape encryption, servers and disk arraysExperience in SAN switching, routing and management products such as Cisco or Brocade fabric solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and reengineer system backup and restore processesKnowledge of disaster recovery planning for a large enterprise
