Director of Clinical Trials Shared Resources needed for the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Tennessee that conducts basic, translational and clinical research and offers adult and pediatric oncology treatment.
The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC), located in Nashville, Tennessee, brings together the clinical oncology programs as well as the cancer-related research, education and outreach activities of hundreds of scientists, doctors, nurses and others at Vanderbilt University and Medical Center. VICC is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a non-profit alliance of 21 leading centers working together to improve quality and effectiveness of cancer care. We are the only Cancer Center in Tennessee consistently ranked among the best hospitals for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the following position: Director, Clinical Trials Shared Resources (CTSR)The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of clinical research operations for the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center. This includes: study operations, patient recruitment, medical partnering, personnel and site administration. Must direct, motivate and train staff; able to organize and prioritize. Must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Major Responsibilities: -Develop goals and objectives for the CTSR based on interpretation of institutional goals and policies -Responsible for day to day operational management of the CTSR including; hiring and developing the team, implementing and managing departmental processes, coordinating with clinical personnel around the conduct of research site service issues. -Collaborate with counsel to negotiate and draft clinical trial research contracts and agreements with clinical trial sites -Support VICCs growth objectives in terms of delivering timely opened studies, accruals on a consistent basis -Provide Physician advocacy while retaining superior relationships with colleagues -Accountable for assisting with achieving the VICCs strategic direction and will be expected to focus on CTSR value and financial stability Experience and Qualifications: -Masters required (MHA, MBA); BSN preferred -10+ years research experience -10+ years management experience -Excellent communication skills, incl. verbal, written and presentation -Excellent organizational skills -Excellent problem solving skills -Customer service orientation -Commitment to individual and team This is a F/T position; Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm.
