The Methodist Hospital System (TMHS) is a nonprofit health care organization based in Houston, Texas. It has extended the world-renowned clinical and service excellence of its founding entity, The Methodist Hospital, through a network of community based hospitals. Affiliated with the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, The Methodist Hospital System works closely with local church leaders to bring compassion and spirituality to all of its endeavors and to help meet the health needs of the community it serves. TMHS is expanding and will open its West Hospital facility in late 2010. In preparation of the opening for the 193 bed facility, the Vice President of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is in search for a Director, Supply Chain Management for the new facility, The Methodist West Houston Hospital (MWHH). This important role will be responsible for ensuring that all Hospital Supply Chain needs are met in compliance with corporate policies and procedures and within industry standards. The incumbent will ensure the highest level of customer service to Methodist West Houston Hospital in support of future hospital operations. The position will report directly to the VP, SCM and secondarily to the CEO, MWHH.Ideal candidates will possess the following: EDUCATIONBachelors degree in a business related field EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 5 years of management in a Hospital Supply Chain setting SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDMust possess a proven ability to communicate with and persuade others in a positive manner Strong analytical skills.Professional handling of exposure to confidential/sensitive information.Ability to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities. Proficient in spreadsheet, word-processing, and presentation software.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, other Methodist employees, and external customers. CRMP certification preferred WORKING ENVIRONMENTThe working environment is varied to include heavy travel in the primary and secondary service area with occasional outside travel.Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekends.At times the job may require to office at the construction job site, job trailer
