JOB SUMMARY The Applications Engineer will perform as a contributing member of the Document Imaging team. This person will be assigned as a technical resource on various document imaging projects as well as performing duties of increasing responsibility such as training, assisting with budget input, and establishment and management of target dates. This person will be assigned project and support-related responsibilities for document imaging systems. The Applications Engineer will attend key IT&S, business owner, and vendor meetings and represent the Document Imaging team´s interests and responsibilities as necessary. The Applications Engineer will often be involved in multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to manage multiple assignments. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Provide McKesson Horizon patient Folder (HPF) System Administration responsibilities in support of the HIM Shared Services Imaging and WorkFlow initiative (80% of time).Responsible for providing ongoing HPF (and related third-party) application support in a post-implementation modeResponsible for monitoring ongoing system performance and availability through available automated monitoring tools and other manual effortsDevelopment, testing, implementation and ongoing support of COLD and HL7 interfaces from various disparate sending systems into HPFCoordinate and assist with troubleshooting of input and output device setup with HIM Service Center (HSC) System AdministratorsResponsible for implementation of standardized strategiesUtilize and adhere to established change control proceduresAssist in functional testing, performance testing and integration testingResponsible for identifying, enhancing, and documenting system monitoring opportunitiesCoordinate activities other IT&S Departments (e.g., Clinical Systems, Wintel, Storage Mgmt, DBA, Network Services, etc) with McKesson technical resources as necessaryResponsible for implementing system upgrades and patches as requiredCross-train other team members on HPF System Administration responsibilitiesProvide support for other Document Imaging and Workflow applications as required (15% of time).Receive cross-training on other applications from other team members or through classroom training as necessary Participate in the Imaging Services On-call support rotation (5% of time). EXPERIENCE Qualified candidates will have 3-7 years of relevant work experience.Less than 1 year of management work experience.College graduate preferred. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with remote system administration, support tools & techniques is required- McKesson Horizon Patient Folder (HPF) System Administration Certification or training is preferred- CDIA+ certification is preferred- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and senior management- Strong analytical background- Proven application support experience with enterprise-class software solutions, preferably with top-tier Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions- Experience with SQL Server administration and query development is desired- Strong knowledge of personal computer systems and Microsoft Office (or other similar productivity applications to support e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet applications) PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Prolonged sitting at a computer/CRT- Standard environmentally-controlled business office setting- Moderate telephone usage- Light-to-moderate travel- On-call work will be required along with some work during nights and weekends
