Abrazo Health Care with five hospitals in Arizona, five imaging centers and 19 primary care offices is changing the face of healthcare in Maricopa County.
Under the direction of the Regional Director of Data Quality, and in adherence to the mission and philosophy of Abrazo Health Care, actively supports division-wide efforts to impact health care quality of service delivered within the region. Uses multiple system software and hardware. Supervises all Regional Data Abstractors and monitors their daily activities. Assists with performance evaluations. Organizes, enters and retrieves data for analysis of trends and problem identification for performance improvement and clinical efficiency activities. Performs data-collection and integrity of information for a variety of projects. Prepares a variety of recurring and special reports to support Abrazo Health Care activities. Supports benchmarking activities. Ensures confidentiality of all activities. There may be other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.- Uses multiple software programs and hardware where applicable. Monitors data collection and integrity of information for a variety of projects.Manages and prioritizes large volumes of work on a daily basis and meets deadlines.- Organizes, enters and retrieves data to provide mechanism for analysis of trends and problem identification for integrated performance improvement and clinical efficiency activities.Performs data analysis for clinical effectiveness, to enhance performance improvement, financial and management activities.Supervises data abstraction for abstraction unit, providing education and constant evaluation and feedback.- Prepares a variety of recurring and special reports to support Abrazo Health Care activities. Audits all outgoing reports for accuracy and quality- Supports external and internal benchmarking activities.Facilitates training and education for any report writing software and systems keeping designated staff abreast of changes and updates to system reporting capabilities.- Maintains professional expertise by remaining current in field and by furthering education. Cross trains as required.- Ensures confidentiality of review activities, as outlined in the Hospital Quality Improvement/Utilization Management Plans and Arizona Revised Statutes (Section 36-445 et seq.).Minimum Experience: Previous Supervisory experience. Three to five years experience in health care/hospital or information systems environment. Knowledge of Medicare regulations, prospective payment pricing, ICD-9-CM coding preferred. Computer literacy required (Midas, graphics, multiple databases and report writers). Understanding of ACC/STS database guidelines, AMC, and Core Measure algorithms. Special Skills: Extensive knowledge in CMS guidelines related to Core Measure abstraction and ACC/STS, and AMC Chest Pain center abstraction
