Employees in this classification function with considerable independence and latitude in judgment concerning methods, materials, and priority of assigned work orders. Work areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, new construction, outdoor structures, and interior facilities. Position coordinates assigned work projects in a manner to minimize disruption in hospital activities. Work may include leading work crews when applicable to the assigned work orders. Observes all rules and regulations governing processing standards of practice regarding all methods of sterilization and processing. Works independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve many issues at one time.Training/Experience: Qualifications: 1.) Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2.) License/Certification: CRCST or equivalent required. Completes annual education CEU hours to maintain CRSCT status. 3.) General:Lead, direct and supervise a diverse staff population. Oversee all dining service operations. Develop and evaluate facilities and operating units according to goals and procedures, budgets, policies and compliance requirements. Lead all departmental marketing, training, strategic planning and quality assurance programs. Routinely review and analyze data and information affecting food costs, inventory, purchases and sales. Coordinate facility review on an ongoing basis to assess renovation needs, capital expenditures and related budget planning. Recommend facility construction, remodeling, expansion or restructuring need based on customer utilization, safety, and efficiency considerations.Administration:Ensure that all employees responsible for cash handling have completed appropriate training and all cash handling procedures are followed. Position Summary: The incumbent in this position is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following the established infection control practices. This incumbent is also responsible to preparing surgical case carts. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital´s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
