We are located in Beverly Hills close to the heart of Los Angeles.For 20 consecutive years, CSMC has been named Los Angeles Most Preferred Hospital for All Health Needs in the National Research Councils independent survey of consumers.Cedars-Sinai was named one of the top five hospitals in the nation - and the only one in the western United States for delivering high quality, safe and exceptional patient care according to an analysis by University Healthcare Consortium (UHC), an alliance of the nations top academic medical centers.Summary of Essential Job Duties:Under general supervision of the Research Scientist and CALNOC Data Manager, this position will for work with the CALNOC Data Control Coordinator to assess, clean, and upload data using CALNOCs quality control systems. This position will also perform analytic tasks and produce reports as assigned. The position includes frequent interactions via telephone and email with representatives of CALNOCs over 230 hospitals to determine data accuracy, instruct on data entry procedures, and solve problems that arise. The position requires knowledge of Windows and Excel and ability to learn additional software designed for CALNOC. Knowledge of CALNOC protocols, SQL and Cognos are desirable, but not mandatory. The position requires the ability to perform ongoing routine data management tasks with precision. This individual will: 1. Upload data submitted by member hospitals following CALNOC specifications in an efficient and accurate manner with attention to detail.2. Assure integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures, 3. Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to help member hospitals detect errors and correct out-of-range data.4. Perform specific analytic tasks as assigned.5. Following CALNOCs customer service standards, provide email and telephone feedback to member hospitals on data integrity issues discovered during data cleaning procedures. 6. Meet CALNOC data deadlines efficiently and effectively.7. Create reports using the CALNOC website, Excel, Powerpoint, Cognos, and other appropriate software as needed.Educational Requirements:- Bachelor´s degree with coursework in information technology or equivalent experience.- Excellent computer competency required, including working knowledge of spreadsheets, relational databases, presentation development, word processing, e-mail, and browser, online reporting and analytic query and reporting tools. Knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and Cognos ReportNet desirable.Experience:- At least two years of prior work in an acute care hospital or other health care delivery setting preferred. - Ability to work in teams, work independently, follow directions, manage completion of multiple tasks within specified timeframes. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as quantitative analysis skills are required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
