Provides instruction to professionals on management of diabetes. Serves as a resource to the hospital staff and community as a diabetes expert. Provides training to dietetic interns. Our innovative programming leads the way in promoting diabetes care with programs such as cooking, nutrition, exercise, and others. Three years previous experience in medical/surgical/ICU nursing required. Recent experience as a registered nurse in a diabetes education setting is desirable. Adult education experience preferred. Demonstrated teaching experience and knowledge of adult education principles, ability to deliver and evaluate adult education programs. Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. Current certification as a Diabetes Educator (CED) is preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator credential must be achieved within two years from date of hire. Must maintain valid CPR (BLS) certification.
