Job Title: Clinical Practice Leader Adult & Older Adult Programs Work Site: 520 West 6th Status: Regular Part Time (0.80) Reference#: 028636 JOB SUMMARY:Reporting operationally to the Director, Vancouver Community (VC), the Clinical Practice Leader, Adult & Older Adult Programs is responsible for providing leadership and expert advice in the area of nursing, including resource planning and research, as well as professional development. As an expert advanced practice nurse, the Clinical Practice Leader receives direction and reports on professional matters to the Professional Practice Director, VC. Works with colleagues and co-workers to achieve excellence in the delivery of nursing care to the adult/older adult population. Leads in the planning, development and implementation of clinical policies and programs designed for improving the quality of adult/older adult services. Responsible for specialty specific standards of practice, stays current with literature on nursing practice and promotes the advancement of a research and theory based autonomous practice of nursing. Assumes a leadership role in advancing the practice of nursing through education, communication, research and support for quality and utilization initiatives. Facilitates services across the continuum of care collaborating with acute and residential care partners. The Clinical Practice Leader supervises the central Adult Older Adult Educator and provides leadership and expert consultation to the VC Wound clinicians, staff, patients/clients and families/significant others. The Clinical Practice Leader works collaboratively with Operations Directors, Medical Directors, Program Managers, Nurse Clinicians, nurses and others members of the interdisciplinary team.QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degree in Nursing with a major in the designated clinical specialty or equivalent plus current registration with the Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia.
