The Financial Administrator is responsible for providing analysis of information and business consulting services to assigned clinical departments (clinics, ancillary services and/or MMG Operations). Collaborates with administrative and clinical staff to identify opportunities to redesign processes to reduce costs and/or maximize revenue, while complying with payer and regulatory guidelines. Acts as financial advisor to assigned clinical departments. - Interpreting information from reports and other sources (which person in the role may have developed) and advising his/her departments of the meaning and impact of the information on the department. - Ability to think independently and demonstrate appropriate professional maturity to substantiate and discuss opinions and interpretations, - Ability to demonstrate effective functional knowledge of their assigned clinical departments. - Ability to make recommendations based on the ranges of information available and discussions held. - Ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility with all levels within the Company, including senior leadership and Department Chairs. - Effective presentation skills. Education: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with 7-10 years experience in healthcare or physician business administration. - CPA, MBA or MHA Required. Training/Experience: - Due to the high level of interaction with management and administrative staff and the nature of the position, the incumbent should have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management. - Person must be analytical and able to react quickly to change. - Experience with pharmaceutical contracts, purchasing and billing.- Experience with planning and forecasting systems. - Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion in a complex, consensus-oriented environment. - Strong quantitative, analytic and problem solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity to make or facilitate appropriate and timely decisions. - Superior facilitation, communication and customer service skills.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The Director of Finance, will organize and maintain the financial accounting systems for the group and coordinate the interface of the groups accounting system with the corporate financial accounting system. The Director of Finance will establish operating polices and have oversight responsibilities for the financial activities of the operating units and consolidated business offices in the areas of accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, employee payroll, cash disbursements, financial statements, and tax information.DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1. Develops plans and objectives with the CFO and department staff regarding short and long range accounting programs in specific areas such as budgeting, profit and loss analysis, accounting systems, reporting, and internal auditing.2. Coordinates the group´s financial accounting functions to ensure accurate recording and reporting of clinic/physician financial information.3. Maintains the group´s chart of accounts and controls the assignment of entity numbers.4. Works with the group´s vice presidents to develop operating units accounting policy and procedures that ensures timely payment of current liabilities to creditors, proper recording and control of cash receipts, recording of fixed assets, development of adequate procedures, instructions, controls, records and reports.5. Works with the groups Vice President to develop and approve financial statements, including balance sheets, profit/loss statements and analysis of budget variance.6. Coordinates the utilization of the corporate internal audit program to ensure internal financial controls are regularly tested and described; coordinates the operating units corrective action plans and tests the audit report response against policy and procedures.7. Assists with the development and implementation of the annual capital and operating budgets for the group´s administrative budget.8. Directs the preparation of statistical information and reports for the management and operations team.9. Directs special projects in forecasting, performance to budget and financial analysis.10. Interacts with Information Services on computer operations related to financial activities.11. Assists with the selection and training of accounting/finance department personnel.12. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - This position requires the following minimum requirements:1. More than 5 years of healthcare related experience2. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of healthcare accounting experience.CERTIFICATE/LICENSE - CPA preferred.

Responsible for the financial reporting and financial operations of a Melbourne based, multi-specialty physician group. This will encompass accounting, analysis, physician billing, budgeting and pro-formas.

Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives relative to the Finance and Billing Departments. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary and fiscal accountability. Responsible for the ongoing effective operation of the Finance and Billing Departments exerting a leadership role which supports the group´s mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, and the community as customers. On-going accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the group´s primary function. Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent minimum experience requirements. CPA preferred. MAS 90 experience a strong plus. Directly responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and reporting of the Central Billing Office operations. Ensures CBO is well organized, adequately staffed and trained so that maximum cash flow is achieved. Ensures open communication with all constituents in the organization. Responsible for developing and adhering to an annual operating budget and optimal FTE staffing levels at or below comparable industry benchmarks. Works with Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Physicians, Practice Administrators, and billing office personnel to address and resolve operational issues that adversely impact customer satisfaction, cash collections and productivity. Ensures that the following performance indicators for Accounts Receivable Management are met: Cash collections, net and gross collection rate, A/R days and aging, Bad debt/charity, third party payer reimbursement in compliance, FTE staffing & staff cost per FTE provider, cost to collect. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor´s required (Business Management /Finance), Masters Preferred, at least 5 years in a large physician group- central billing, management experience required, Project Management preferred, medical manager system experience preferred with ability to transition staff to new system.
