The Interface Engineer is predominately responsible for development and maintenance of key data interfaces. He/she is responsible for detailed analysis, design and maintenance of system integration functions. The Engineer performs feasibility studies and requirements analysis for system integration between applications, using healthcare and industry standard formats. The Interface Engineer will program, test, debug, and document integration programs based upon business requirements and/or detailed specifications. Will be responsible for:- managing data processes - establishing parameters for consistency of data definitions and elements - monitoring integrity of data coming from multiple sources - determining and maintaining appropriate refresh rates to meet user needs. - development and maintenance of real-time and batch interfaces, processing downloads and other operational processes - establishing and directing the use of program specifications and standards - insuring system security, integrity and efficient utilization of automated systems - includes the development of disaster backup and recovery plans. EDUCATION:Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent technical experience required. 5 years experience in system support, design and analysis or successful demonstrated performance in a position of similar duties will be given considerationEXPERIENCE: Four years related experience in application development including operating system shell script programming and development languages. Experience in two or more of the following languages: JAVA, C, C++, Perl, Tcl, SQL, XML or a compiler language; and with HL7 records, flat record layout records, and XML records particularly within the Cloverleaf engine.
