This position will be responsible for providing analytical support primarily to the Mid-Atlantic Region Sourcing Manager.
Preferred Skills: Strategic sourcing methodology; complex analytical problem solving; project management with ability to balance multiple projects; excellent communication, presentation, analytical and report writing skills; intermediate to advanced Excel; Access & Business Objects preferred.Purpose: This position will be responsible for providing analytical support primarily to the Mid-Atlantic Region Sourcing Manager, which will include running and compiling spend data, providing strategic analysis and insight to suppliers and markets in selected categories of spend, and developing reports, presentations, and other materials related to such projects and analyses. In addition, the Analyst will prepare and conduct pre-negotiation planning, live negotiations, requests for proposals and quotation analysis. Conducts general spend data analysis, as well as targeted spend analysis for commodity categories, business units, and/or suppliers, on regional spend. Based on data analysis, prepares reports supporting recommended strategies and program development. 2. Conducts strategic market analysis, benchmarks suppliers, analyzes and forecasts commodity markets and monitors changes in technology, with the objective of providing deep and meaningful insight to the Sourcing Manager. 3. Creates detailed pre-negotiation plans to lead or participate in negotiation sessions with suppliers and to conduct post negotiation debriefs and follow through plans. 4. Creates and executes requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), or requests for quotes (RFQs) together with subsequent structured information analysis wherever possible using strategic sourcing methodology. Supports supplier evaluation and rating by supplying relevant statistics to the Sourcing Manager. 5. Constructs detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services that are supplied to Kaiser Permanente, and develops an understanding of the cost structure of suppliers. 6. Negotiates select regional contracts to supplement the national contract portfolio and ensures contract documents are in accordance with corporate standards. Administers contracts and resolves claims/disputes in a manner that produces fair and timely resolution of issues. 7. Manages supplier performance by establishing supplier continuous improvement objectives, monitoring performance through score carding and formal reviews and reporting on measurable results. 8. Performs additional duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS --Relevant Years of Experience: - Seven years of experience in a combination of strategic sourcing, purchasing, and/or goods and services contracting environment required. - Demonstrated experience in employing strategic sourcing methodology, complex analytic problem solving, database use and structure, and financial analysis required.- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and report writing skills required.- Strong project management skills with proven ability to handle multiple projects required.- Strong customer focused professional mindset required.- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel. Experience with Access and Business Objects preferred.Education and/or Classes: - Bachelor´s Degree in supply chain, business administration, finance or related area, or equivalent years of experience required.- Master´s Degree preferred. License, Certification and/or Designation:- A.P.P. or C.P.M. preferred.
