Goppert-Trinity Family Care located on the Brookside Campus of Research Medical Center, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Patient Services Representative.Under the general direction of Goppert-Trinity Family Clinics Front Office Supervisor, the patient service representative is responsible for assisting patients seeking entrance to GTFC by phone or in person. Those responsible include registration, check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, switchboard, charge and payment entry, coding and special projects. The position requires compassion, tact, and persuasion in meeting patients and their familys need while accomplishing the objectives of CTFC. A minimum of two years experience in a medical business office scheduling or registration area. Familiarity with computerized billing system or software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; positive interpersonal communicator. Knowledgeable of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Basic knowledge of third party payer system to include HMOs, PPOs and government insurance programs. Excellent telephone skills, must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work efficiently in high stress fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Abstracts CPT-4, HCPCS II and ICD-9-CM from medical records, operative notes, hospital admissions, consults, progress notes and discharges.9. Provides AR management for self pay accounts and balances.10. Coordinates with front office staff on payment/billing issues.11. Identifies quality issues with registration and scheduling activities.12. Acts as a resource for Practice Managers and Physicians with denials and coding questions.13.
