Phoenix Children´s Hospital is the only specialty children´s hospital in Arizona and it is poised to become one of the foremost pediatric hospitals in the nation. The hospital is home to the state´s largest group of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists. In addition, the hospital continues to evolve its clinical practices and is working with leading local and national research partners to uncover new breakthroughs in pediatric medicine. Currently a 345 bed facility, new construction plans were unveiled in October 2006 that include the building of two new patient bed towers and expansion in bed capacity and other key programs and services over the course of the next several years. Primary Purpose: The Help Desk Analysts are the first point of contact for the hospital´s computer users seeking assistance in the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues. Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance with the organization´s computer systems, PCs, connectivity issues, telecommunications issues, or problems with other electronic office equipment. Identifies the problem(s), troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users. Coordinates with other Information Technology areas to resolve problems if necessary. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: -1-2 years help desk experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000/XP), identifying user problems and resolving; the equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.-Ability to communicate instructions, assistance, and guidance in a clear and concise manner.-Excellent customer service skills; ability to develop and maintain rapport.-Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skill.-Familiarity with Internet software applications.-Fully knowledge about various desktop office applications, Microsoft applications, Microsoft Office products, hardware, NT Networks, Anti-Virus software, and other office machines such as printers and fax machines.-Knowledge of MS dialup networking, modem connectivity, and VPNs.-Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including night and/or evening shift(s). Preferred Qualifications: -A+ certification; Help Desk Certification (HDA); Microsoft Production Certification (MCP)-Associate´s degree in computer technology or information technology.-Basic knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting, Active Directory and network security helpful.-Experience with alternative operating systems helpful (Linux, Sun/Unix, etc.)-Knowledge of Citrix, Altiris, and RDP, Blackberry OS/RIM; imagining software.-Knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting, Active Directory and network security.
