Nemours is seeking a Patient Transport to join our team in Delaware.

Work schedule:  every third weekend 9:30am - 6:00pm.  One Holiday per year required.This position assures the safety of patients and staff during patient transports within the hospital and at discharge. This position also assures the availability of clean and maintained wagons/wheelchairs to patients and staff. To create, obtain and maintain tools necessary to enhance the function of the Patient Transport Department and the organization. Accepts and supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital/organization. 1. Transport of patients to and from ancillary services and all other transfers within the hospital. 2. Supports the Discharge Process for IP/PACU patients by asking questions to clarify if there is an understanding of discharge/prescription instructions, if there are any unanswered questions and is there any further assistance we can provide. 3.  Ensures par levels of clean and maintained wagons/wheelchairs to designated units, patients, their families and staff. 4. Provides dispatch support to the Command Center.5. Provides support to the Concierge Desk. 6. Supports the Kinfolk laptop program in the retrieval of IP loaner computers. JOB REQUIREMENTS: CPR Certification.Trained in bed to wheelchair/wheelchair to car transfers (body mechanics) .Wheelchair safety.Knowledge of the Command Center and dispatch.Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds is required.Ability to push or pull 150 pounds is required.Nemours, an equal opportunity employer, is committed to focusing on the best-qualified applicants for our openings.

Brack Emergency Room Responsibilities 1. Transports patients to and from designated locations as directed. 2. Assists patients in getting on and off wheelchair and stretchers, using good body mechanics and proper safety procedures. 3. Delivers equipment, documents, and other materials to designated locations as directed. 4. Cleans and maintains wheelchairs, stretchers, and any equipment with which he/she works. 5. When not transporting or delivering, the Transportation Aide will assist in the department as directed. 6. Inspires confidence from patients, visitors, families, physicians and associates by performing and communicating in a highly professional manner at all times. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 6 months of experience in a acute care setting. Skills Ability to read and write English is required.
