A primary focus is to ensure timely and accurate meal services for patient services, cafeteria services, physicians lounge, catering and compliance with HACCP/Sanitation standards. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to scheduling, employee performance evaluations, cash handling, opening/closing, direct employee supervision. Supervisor will be expected to have working knowledge of all department positions, RCS menu system and Common Cents register system. The FNS supervisor position is a working position. Supervisors will also maintain duties of position as Cook I, Cook II or Dietitian Assistant.Qualifications:Licensure/Certification/Registration: None. Education: High School diploma or GED Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Food Service, prefer 1-3 years of supervisory experience in Food Service. Special Qualifications: Able to perform simple arithmetic. Able to work in a quick-paced, customer service environment. Must show good judgment and reliability. The new 114 bed West Tower includes 24 state-of-the art ICU beds, helping Memorial meet the growing demand for beds from patients coming through the Emergency department. There are two additional 30-bed telemetry/med surgery floors and a new 30 bed Family Care floor (post-partum, GYN). Our tiniest patients receive the highest level of care from Kern County´s most experienced and trusted doctors and nurses in Memorials expanded Neonatal Intensive Care unit. This unit is equipped with the most advanced technology and soon our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will be open to treat local children with critical healthcare needs. The New West Tower has given Memorial Hospital over 400-licensed acute care beds, making Memorial hospital the largest full service Hospital in Kern County. POSITION REQUIREMENTS - 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education in culinary program and experience. - High school diploma or GED. - Preferred Completion of formal culinary course in college or culinary school. - Trained in preparing foods in large quantities; proficient in using commercial preparation and cooking equipment and following standardized recipes. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and adjust measurements of ingredients. - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. - Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.- Ability to interact and communicate with all customers and team members in a positive, professional manner; Facilitating customer-centered service and promoting our Quality People-Quality Care goals.- Must be able to read, write and speak English. - Current ServSafe Certification.
