This position will require astute business management of the service line as we move to the new Emergency Department. Develops and manages budget. Ensures cost-effective daily operations and allocation of section resources; develops goals and objectives to correspond with department standards. 4. Acts as a contributing member of the nurse management team. Masters degree in nursing required, Masters in healthcare, or business administration preferred. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington, required. 5 years of increasingly responsible management experience. The SUNY Downstate Medical Center Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine seeks highly qualified & experienced candidates for the position of Administrator for the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine.

As the Director of Rehabilitation Services for the University Hospital of Brooklyn the Divisional Administrator directs and coordinates the operations of the therapeutic services within the University Hospital of Brooklyn including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, an 18 bed inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and Neuropsychology. As the administrative head for the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine the incumbent also has administrative responsibility for managing all operations of the Rehabilitation Medicine division including physician services, interventional physiatry and the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency program as well as the academic mission within the College of Medicine. The administrator reports directly to the Division Chief of the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine and as a member of the Senior Management Team for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine is responsible for coordinating these operations with other hospital divisions and services to achieve the optimum level of health care delivery for the in-patient and out-patient areas.
