Compliance Project Manager needed in Portland, OR!
This position is responsible for managing key projects as necessary for the successful management & operation of the compliance program for Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center (KSMC), Westside Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), Procedure Rooms, Continuing Care Services (CCS) & Residential Treatment Facility (RTF). The Project Manager (PM) leads & provides expert technical leadership for highly visible, sensitive & multi-faceted projects. This position is responsible for setting strategic direction of projects & developing project plans. The PM provides high quality & cost effective project management, analytic support services & technical expertise for a broad array of issues. This is the second level job in a three level PM Ladder. At the second level, the PM is responsible for leading projects of complex scope where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Projects assigned are broad in scope and may involve multiple functional areas and/or span across service areas. Proj. plans which identify key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics & resources required- Assists business owners to design processes to address identified problems- Est. team membership & negotiates time commitments & resource allocation- Provides staff leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, as well as manages work of outside consultants- Motivates team members & facilitates team meetings- Cultivates & reinforces appropriate group values, norms & behaviors- Provides guidance to team on performance & productivity- Designs research plans for data gathering & analysis- Actively participates in or may lead in analyzing data & develop recommendations & action plans- Accountable for the development of project documentation for senior leaders & other key stakeholders- Plans & facilitates meetings- Makes formal presentations to business dept. leaders & various senior level audiences- Est. procedures regarding implementation of project outcome- Assesses proj. impact on workforce. May include assisting business dept. leads in dev. training programs for impacted staff- Est. effective prof. business relationships with all levels of staff & management- Instructs & educates on all aspects of project- May include other duties & responsibilitiesQualifications: Basic Qualifications:- 5 years project management experience- Minimum of 3 years working in a health care and/or managed care setting, analyzing laws & regulations- Bachelor´s degree in Health Care, Business or related field, or 5 years experience in hospital operations or multifaceted health care systems & multi-provider setting in compliance, QA, or other similar field- Knowledge of federal & state laws, regulations & accreditation standards applicable to healthcare and hospitals- Ability to analyze & interpret state & federal laws, regulations & accreditation standards- Knowledge of managed care industry- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects or multiple projects of moderate complexity- Demonstrated ability to oversee and motivate up to 25 cross-functional team members- Experience managing moderately large projects- Ability to use judgment to review recommendations to organizational problems and determine course of action- Strong proficiency in the use of current software, including spreadsheets, process mapping tools, project work plan tools, charts and graphs, and basic Microsoft applications- Ability to use advanced verbal and written communications methods to convey concepts to team members and stakeholders- Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses- Effective leadership, project management, and consulting skills- Experience with conducting audits/assessments and preparing and monitoring corrective action plans- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a changing environment- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment- Demonstrated ability to create/write accurate documentation- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills- Ability to interact well with all levels of personnel- Strong organization skills-detail oriented- Skills in negotiation and conflict resolution Preferred Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management in health care preferred- Minimum of 3 years working with federal or state health care laws, regulations & accreditation standards- Minimum of 3 years working in a regulatory or legal environment in health care/managed care industry, preferably in Compliance- Minimum of 3 years working in a clinical setting- Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or other related field- Project management certification (PMP)- Supervisory experience- Demonstrated knowledge of state & federal laws, regulations & accreditation standards applicable to hospitals, ASCs, Procedure Rooms, CCS & RTF- Knowledge of HIPAA, EMTALA & Medicare laws & regulations- Knowledge of federal & state fraud & abuse laws & regulations- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards- Experience in working directly with state & federal regulatory agenciesSalary Range: $33.71 - $45.85
