GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Files, locates, retrieves, and delivers medical records as deemed appropriate in a timely manner.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Files all dictation in patient charts daily.2. Copies all dictation to referring physician offices daily and ensures the completeness of the transcription.3. Pulls charts for clinical staff in response to telephone messages, lab results, diagnostic test results, etc. 4.Pulls charts for BHC in response to billing queries.5. Processes medical records requests, both internal and external.6. Routes incoming faxes to appropriate departments.7. Maintains chart integrity. 8. Maintains archives, logs and transcription logs.9. Backs up reception area when needed.10. Responds to all medical record related phone calls11. Maintains strictest patient confidentiality12. Complies with State/Federal rules regarding medical records.13. Attends TNPA meetings14. Other duties as assigned.SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1.
