This position will be responsible for the daily administration of tasks, scheduling and problem solving related to the collections department. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning. Must be able to interpret contract reimbursement and be able to maneuver and manipulate Excel spreadsheets. Must be familiar with UB04. Must have a minimum of 3 years of collections experience in a hospital setting. Must have 1+ years supervisory experience with 5+ direct reports. Knowledge of ICD9/ CPT/ HCPCS coding is mandatory.

Required level of knowledge equivalent to an Associate or Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management Administration, certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Responsible for conducting secondary review of IP claims per Vanguard Policy 12-0902C HDM 3M Audit Expert IP Coding Compliance Review. Minimum 5 years inpatient coding experience. Preferred experience in understanding of 3M Audit Expert System. Detail knowledge and understanding of MSDRGS and OIG work plan as it relates to correct coding and MSDRG assignment. Must be able to use standard office equipment and information systems. Understanding of the facilities information technology systems: Admitting, Charge/order entry, ARMS/ Coding Abstracting System, Xactimed/ Bill Scrubber and APC grouper logic. Ability to interact with other employees through effective communication regarding audits and ongoing issues identified. Preferred RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certifications.
