Documentation Specialist is responsible for improving overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
Under general supervision of the Regional Coding Manager/Manager of Inpatient Coding, the Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for improving overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality through extensive interaction with physician, case management, nursing staff, other patient caregivers and coding staff. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an approved Health Information Technology/Management program with credentials of RHIA, RHIA eligible, RHIT, RHIT eligible, CCS, CCS-P and/or graduate from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure. Two years of experience in acute care setting. One year of inpatient coder experience preferred. Minimum Requirements: RHIT, RHIA, or CCS if RN graduate from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure
