The Occupational and Employee Health Clinic at Alice Peck Day Health Systems is looking for an experienced practice manager. As a vital member of our team, this individual will provide hands-on leadership and oversight of all aspects of clinic operations.
The Practice Manager for Occupational and Employee Health is responsible for the leadership and oversight of all aspects of clinical operations. The Practice Manager is responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality patient care in the clinic and at companies in the community in a cost effective manner. Serves as the overall business manager and liaison to the provider(s) in the clinic. Responsible for strategic planning, program development, continuous quality improvement and financial/budget preparation, reporting and monitoring. Monitors staff performance and facilitates effective teamwork. Prepares and analyzes financial activity reports. Creates overall marketing plan in conjunction with Medical Director and APD in house marketing department. Identifies, establishes and evaluates quality improvement and compliance within office practice and appropriate regulatory bodies (OSHA, DOT, etc.) Essential Position Functions:- Responsible for department performance management and staffing including all nursing staff, customer service representatives, and ancillary staff within the department. Sets expectations and holds employees accountable to goals and objectives, both individually and practice-wide. Manages and balances the staffing needs, evaluating the clinical license and experience required to perform services. Ensures all staff maintains credentials as appropriate.- Receives input and direction from the Medical Director in all aspects of clinical services, marketing strategies, and growth and direction of Occupational and Employee Health Services.- Ensures the clinic complies with all regulations for services provided through internal audit and quality metrics (for OSHA, DOT, CLIA, etc.).- In conjunction with the Medical Director, ensures that clinical expertise and oversight is in place through the direct management of the Clinical Oversight Nurse. Sets expectations for this position for high quality care, compliance to regulations and effective nurse practices.- Ensures effective systems are in place for the smooth day to day running of the practice, including registration, billing, medical records, etc. Applies best practices to systems, tools and practices to ensure ongoing continuous improvement that result in increased patient quality and satisfaction, while maintaining a cost effective and profitable business.- Monitor, manage and evaluate all practice policies and procedures and ensure all the staff are familiar with and observe them. Formulates new policies as deemed necessary and establishes systems for their implementation. Work with Clinical Oversight Nurse to ensure clinical expertise and comprehensive knowledge is in place to perform procedures.- Manages relationships with clients and third party administrators, ensuring the clinic is meeting or exceeding their expectations. Creates avenues for business growth by working with clients to understand their unique needs and adding programs and/or services when able.- Maximizes the resources for the clinic applying sound financial judgment. Manages revenue, expense and capital budgets; monitors variances and identifies financial risk and revenue opportunities; analyze monthly financial reports for trends and/or problems and implement solutions for long range sustainability.- In conjunction with the Medical Director of the clinic, markets the services to new and prospective clients. Sets up new clients in compliance with hospital billing practices.- Responsible for coordination f the Workers Compensation program at APD, supporting Human Resources through initiatives and plans that promote employee wellness. Position Standards:- Bachelors Degree in Business Management or equivalent- 2 to 3 years experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Occupational Health- Proven management experience in a complex environment- Experience with profit & loss statements
