You will assure compliance of coding rules and regulations according to regulatory agencies (CMS, OIG) and work as a team to meet departmental goals and A/R goals. Interested candidates must be RHIA, RHIT or Certified Coding Specialist. Completion of an accredited certified coding specialist program is required. Must have 3 years inpatient coding experience and 1 year outpatient coding experience. Knowledge of encoder system, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, outpatient prospective payment system (APCs), local medical review policies and inpatient prospective payment system (DRGs) are also required. Competency in computer applications along with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians is needed. Auditor, Physician-based Practices/Data Integrity Coder - Job Number: 31562You will review the quality of coded and abstracted data assuring coding compliance; perform target and focus DRG, APC, CPT, and Medical Necessity reviews; identify and correct rejected claims due to HIM coding; and assist with education and training of the coding staff.Selected candidate must be a Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) and/or Medical Coding Certified Professional Coder-Payer (CPC-P) with 3-5 years of expertise in a physician-based setting such as physician offices, group practices, multi specialty clinic or specialty center with in-depth knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS level II coding systems. Current on medical compliance and reimbursement issues with required proficiency across wide variety of service areas, which include E&M, anesthesia, surgical services, radiology, pathology and medicine, is also required.
