Provide technical and administrative support for all systems. Guide information technology solutions to increase productivity and efficiency in order to meet System objectives. Requires travel to BIS corporate offices and BHCS entities.Responsibilities: • Prepares long and short-range plans to determine the current and future System Information requirements. Makes recommendations for application selection, software systems development, systems maintenance, production activities, and for necessary support resources. • Monitors and reports overall performance of Information Services on a regular basis to ensure quality, efficiency and accuracy. • Ensure that specific BIS- Baylor Information Services- needs and concerns are being met; serves as primary contact within the hospital for BIS issues; functions as single point of contact for BIS staff on entity BIS issues and service requests. • Functions as hospital IM Approver which involves approving all requests for BIS services generated by hospital staff. • Validates installation of IT solutions; participates in/be aware of BIS projects impacting the hospital; manages expectations and coordinates hospital resources for various BHCS/BIS initiatives/projects; participates in annual project prioritization process. • Participates in hospital and BIS budgeting process; manages the IS departmental budget in a manner that is consistent with the operational objectives of Baylor Information Services. Ensures that expenditures are within the financial guidelines established in the capital and operating budgets. • Evaluates vendor proposals for software, hardware and technical services to assure adherence to technical guidelines and standards. • Communicates BIS and CMC vision, goals and strategies to build awareness and commitment within the department. Maintains open communication channels with staff and management. • Develops, implements and maintains an effective training program, policies and procedures, and user manuals for system users, to sustain positive customer service. • Responsible for Human Resources functions, including interviewing, hiring, counseling, appraising, and terminating employees. Identifies personnel development needs, provides training opportunities, and conducts annual reviews for employees.RequirementsMust have a minimum of 5 years of experience with a multi-hospital healthcare system or direct hospital experience, including working directly with physicians, and a minimum of 2 years of management experience. RNs are preferred. Experience integrating MEDITECH software solutions is a plus. Experience implementing hospital-based computer systems with special emphasis on clinical systems required. Must have demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously for a large health care system or a large tertiary care hospital. Candidates with a strong ability to identify and overcome barriers to progress and negotiate them to move projects forward are desired. Strong analytical abilities are required to interact with customers and staff to evaluate work and provide technical assistance. Good interpersonal skills are required to interact with customers, clients and staff and provide technical assistance to resolve problems. Good organizational skills are required to communicate effectively. Candidates must have proven leadership skills, not be a micro-manager, have a strong commitment to internal customer service and satisfaction, have strong project management skills and possess creative problem solving ability.
