The first Chief of Pediatrics for the medical staff of a newly constructed Children´s hospital and The first Chief of Pediatrics to foster a strong and lasting academic affiliation with the new medical school in Grand Rapids. Spectrum Health Medical Group is an emerging multispecialty medical group. It will be comprised of a multispecialty adult practice, as well as, integrating the hospital-employed pediatric specialists from the Helen DeVos Children´s Hospital into the group. Because the pediatric specialists have been employed by the Helen DeVos Children´s Hospital (HDVCH) and have been functioning as a pediatric multispecialty group, this group has been given the designation as a group-within-a-group. Michigan State University (MSU) is building a four year medical school in Grand Rapids. The pediatric specialists are faculty members of MSU. The newly constructed 14-story, 206-bed, comprehensive Helen DeVos Children´s Hospital will feature a dedicated pediatric emergency department, private rooms for inpatients with space for parents to room in, and an expanded neonatal intensive care unit with over 100 NICU beds, 40 of which will be private rooms for critically ill and premature babies. Successful, board certified, candidates for this position will have proven pediatric physician leadership experience in a medical group practice in these areas: clinical performance, including quality and safety; operational excellence; recruitment and retention; financial performance; strategic planning and implementation; and physician performance oversight. Ideally candidates will have recent academic experience and will welcome the opportunity to further develop a strong working relationship with MSU in clinical, research and teaching areas.Grand Rapids, Michigan is the second largest city in the state located just 35 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan. University Physicians Hospital is the anchor facility for a new academic medical campus of The University of Arizona and University Physicians Healthcare. Georgetown University Hospital, a 609-bed facility and teaching institute affiliated with Georgetown University Medical School, is seeking an AVP, Executive Director, Oncology Services. The AVP and Executive Director, Oncology Services will lead, direct and manage the clinical oncology service line for Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) at Georgetown University Hospital (GUH) and will serve as the primary executive between GUH, LCCC and MedStar Health. This person will provide leadership, direction and operational management to the LCCC clinical services in accordance with the mission, policies and philosophy of GUH. The Executive Director, Oncology Services will ensure accountability to operational, strategic and financial objectives of the oncology service line and services with clearly defined timeframes and accountabilities. Working closely with the executive team of Georgetown University Hospital, medical faculty and associated voluntary medical staff, the Executive Director will identify programs, services and associated competencies required to build and expand oncology programs and services of Georgetown University Hospital and Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Requirements for the role include an MHA, MBA or MS in health care administration, public health administration or a related field. Five or more years of experience in oncology management and service line structure is also required. Experience with an NCI-designated oncology program is highly preferred.Washington, D.C.
