Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a Coding Manager.
The Coding Manager is responsible for all coding activities in the Coding Department under the general direction of the Director of Patient Accounting. This individual ensures coding accuracy that is consistent with federal, local, and industry standards and in compliance with coding guidelines. Oversees the daily operations associated with coding and audit functions. Ensures timely and accurate coding and abstracting of the ambulatory medical record. Assists with the development of proactive studies to assess and maintain coding and data quality. Oversees and responds to third party probes and audit requests. Oversees the audit functions in the Coding Department and communicates data and outcomes as needed to pertinent departments. Provides and/or oversees education of providers and departments regarding legislative and regulatory updates and coding issues. Participates in various team meetings and workgroups. Oversees the development of outpatient coding policies, procedures, guidelines, and manuals. Evaluates risk factors of coding and documentation practices and assists with corrective action measures to improve efficiency. Conducts staff interviews, provides training and discipline as needed in the Coding Department.Bachelors degree or equivalent requiredRHIT or RHIA requiredMinimum 5 years coding experienceCCS/CPC will be considered
