Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, coordinates, and is accountable for major departmental divisions/sub-units administrative and clinical activities including grants and contracts, budget development and planning for total budgets of $4 million or greater, financial analysis, data processing operations, and human resources management for a division or other department sub-unit with teaching, research and clinical service responsibilities. Reports directly to the Division or Unit Director and indirectly to the Department Administrator and Chair.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelors degree in business, finance or related science field. Five years of professional business or management experience. Previous supervisory experience. Experience in a clinical setting preferred.ADDITIONAL DUTIES TO BE ADDED TO THE POSTING- Provide on-site management the all the Departments activities at Grady to include all inpatient services, clinics, academic, educational and research activities.- Create administrative partnership with the Departments Grady Chief of Service, Residency Program Director and Medical Student Clerkship Director to enhance the Departments teaching, research and clinical care missions at Grady.- Act as liaison between the Chief of Service, Residency Program Director and the Faculty, Residents, Grady clinic management and Emory Medical Care Foundation (EMCF) to optimize efficient clinics and maximize financial performance- Monitor, make recommendations and implement improvements in faculty and resident involvement in all activities at Grady to include inpatient services and outpatient clinics- Analyze Clinical activities such as Charges, Net Pay, Collection rate, Benchmarking, Payor mix, and summarizing findings to draw managements attention to key indicators needed for decision-making.- Monitor and reconcile daily all clinic activity, with faculty and resident schedules to ensure a correct bill is created and submitted for each encounter.- Monitor charge lag, physician productivity, TES Edits and Denials and all general billing issues and implement solutions for improvements.- Ensure that all faculty members Credentials are updated for the Grady Health System and Emory Medical Care Foundation timely to include initial appointments, reappointments, board certification status, license and DEA renewals- Assist in the preparation of annual departmental budgets. Monitor Grady-related departmental budgets via monthly reconciliation of expenses to account balances, and monthly reconciliation of deposits and withdrawals to Bank Statement (Vanguard account) and clinical activity.- Coordinate New Hire Orientation as it relates to all financially related matters for Grady Interns, Residents, and Faculty.Emory University is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
