Director of Finance & Reimbursement
Gateway Medical Associates, an independently owned multispecialty group practice currently undergoing exceptional growth (50 FTE Physicians), located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Reimbursement to oversee all financial and billing activities for the organization. This position is part of our Senior Management Team and performs & directs all the financial activities of the organization including preparation of financial statements, forecasts and budgets. The candidate will have direct supervision over accounts payable, payroll, general ledger and internal audits. Additionally, the Director of Finance & Reimbursement is responsible for effectively managing both the employees and functions within the billing department including training, management of all contracting activities and compliance.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Finance/AccountingDevelopment / presentation of monthly financial statements (balance sheets, P&L statements and analysis of budget variances) to various audiences including Management and ShareholdersPreparation of statistical information & reporting for ManagementSpecial projects in forecasting, budgeting, proformas and financial analysisOversight of accounts payable, payroll and general ledger functionsSupervision of Accounts Payable / Payroll ClerkDevelopment of policies & procedures to ensure internal financial controls are developed and maintainedMaintain ongoing communications with Corporate Accounting Firm to include Corporate tax filing, audits and annual financial statementsInteraction with Information Systems on computer operations related to financial activitiesBillingMaintenance and participation in negotiation of all health insurance contracts seeking maximum reimbursement and timely paymentsDevelop a system to verify appropriate payments for charges billed, addressing any/all issues and problems with paymentsReview and oversight of practice accounts receivable, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain all physician fee schedules and contract information, including all necessary filing; verify and ensure accurate contract and fee schedule loading into the system and work closely with Senior Management on the implementation of contracts.Provide any and all reports as needed to assist and coordinate studies of utilization, costs and reimbursementAssist operations staff with daily issues that relate to contracting efforts.Manage the physician credentialing processManagement of CBO staff on a daily basisQualified candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Office, including a strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Sage MAS accounting products, Allscripts PM & Professional EHR helpful but not required. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and possess a willingness & desire to be part of a management team committed to increased business growth in an advanced primary care environment.Candidate will have a minimum of a bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Healthcare. Must have five to seven years of management experience in a physician group practice setting.
