Sterile Processing Tech - PRN(Job Number: 09724-14464) Missouri-Lees Summit-Lees Summit Medical CenterSchedule: Per Diem/PRN Description Job Responsibilities:Responsible for sterilizing and maintaining all equipment, instruments, and suppliesAdheres to written policiesMaintains sterile supplies and intrument setsAutoclaves supplies and instrumentsCleans autoclaves and sonic cleanerCleans instrumentsEnsures proper functioning of instruments and equipment used in the operating roomAssists operating room staff in maintaining integrity of all equipment, instruments, and suppliesreports all broken and non-functioning equipment to the Clinical DirectorAssists in stocking and ordering of supplies for Central Supply areaAssists in turnover of operating roomsResponsible for removal of trash, both comtaminated and non-contaminatedAssists with training new orientees to the Instrument Room and Central Supply areasOther duties as assignedQualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalentExperience: Central Supply/Sterile Processing/OR background strongly recommendedPRN position to work as needed.

Description The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies, instruments and equipment. Job tasks and responsibilities include:Prepares instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing and storing procedures.Understands principles of sterilization techniques and operates sterilization equipment.Assembles and sets up instruments trays for operating rooms.Assists in departmental cost containment efforts.Performs equipment distribution and routing cleaning and maintenance.Performs crash cart restocking/exchange.Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Orients and mentors new staff members. Qualifications Job qualifications include:High school diploma or GED requiredAt least one year of sterilization and instrumentation experience preferredStrong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills requiredAble to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching and lifting of 25 lbs.
