Responsible for having a detailed knowledge of the financial and accounting systems, both at the group and corporate level, and for developing complete and accurate financial and statistical reports.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The Financial Reporting Manager, reporting to the HCAPS Controller, is responsible for having a detailed knowledge of the financial and accounting systems, both at the group and corporate level, and for developing complete and accurate financial and statistical reports. The Financial Reporting Manager will also be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Physician Database and acting as the DBA. In addition, the Financial Reporting Manager will assist in the facilitation and creation of all month-end reports for Corporate, Operations, Service Centers, Compliance, Sales, Enrollment, etc., all special databases, all ad hoc queries, and training materials for the reporting staff. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:1.Work with HCAPS administration staff and Information Systems (IS) to develop financial and operating reports that will monitor the progress of all practice entities at the Corporate, Group, Division, Market, Practice, and Physician level.2.Work with HCAPS Financial Reporting to monitor the setting up and tracking of all new COIDs assigned to HCA PHY .3.Issue and track the issuance of various identification numbers in the database system while maintaining its integrity and keeping it up to date and balanced.4. Determine and devise data collection, research techniques, data interpretation and analytical methodology to use for analysis purposes.5. Use statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports. Makes recommendationsrelated to financial trends, forecasts, and clinic/practice performance.6.Review and analyze financial and statistical data for the Controller and CFO and other members of the management team.7.Create and monitor ad hoc or special reporting, interview individuals, conduct investigations, research and collect data and document findings where necessary.8.Evaluates operational techniques, budgets, programs and practices to ensure optimum economic operation.9.Maintains and reconciles the Physician Database daily and monthly and annually and make all conversions required for the new year.10.Assist controller in performing all necessary journal entries to close books for COID 6653 at month end.11.Maintain all reporting Access DBs in proper working order and ensure their accuracy and integrity. This includes keeping them up to date and making all year end conversions required.12.Develop tools to assist in any or all of the above and act as advisor for improvements in reporting tools. 13.Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - This position requires the following minimum requirements:1.Knowledge of accounting principles to establish and maintain clinic accounting system.2.Knowledge of effective supervision.3.Knowledge of computer accounting systems and applications.4.Knowledge of all relevant financial and accounting systems.5.Skill in using cost information to determine rate charges.6.Skill in analyzing accounting information for management decision making.7.Skill in identifying and resolving problems.8.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.9.Skill in performing mathematical calculations.10.Ability to interpret, adapt and apply cost accounting policies and procedures.11.Ability to evaluate various accounting systems.12.Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to staff.13.Ability to communicate information effectively with patients, medical staff, and others.EDUCATION - Bachelor degree in business administration or related field. EXPERIENCE1. More than seven years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance or IS including two years in a health care organization.2. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for three years of healthcare accounting experience.CERTIFICATE/LICENSE CPA, MHA, or MBA preferred
