The primary responsibilities of the Division Director of Hospitalists Services include maintenance of the daily operations and general management of the program(s) in the assigned geographic region. Must have experience managing multiple sites.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:-The overall operational responsibility for the routine business and clinical functions of the hospitalist program(s) to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services of his or her assigned programs. Participates in monthly administrative, quality, and financial data analysis and reporting such as:*Regional Hospitalist Program Metrics *P & L Reports-Directs and manages projects for each program such as:*Monitors patient flow through the program(s) to ensure appropriate utilization of physician time and staff coverage.*Reviews charges and visit encounters for variations and patterns. Conducts spot audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.*Reviews hospitalist physician charges and coding accuracy, and capture of charges.*Provides physician and staff training as required.*Conducts and analyzes referring physician, patient and facility staff surveys and questionnaires.*Identifies program/business development opportunities to increase the program(s) market share.-Interacts on a monthly basis with each Hospitalist Program Medical Director and facility administrators to ensure their program business needs are met and:*Resolves any medical/administrative problems.*Reviews monthly operating reports.*Keeps lines of communication open between program staff and administration.*Insures a high employee morale and a professional, effective, and efficient working atmosphere.-Develops, implements and monitors annual program(s) budget(s) by:*Analyzes financial impact of changes in clinical activities and forecasts actual revenue/expenditures versus approved budget.*Recommends corrective action as required.-Develops cost/benefit analysis of new patient care services and equipment to maximize patient revenues.-Recommends implementation/purchase of new services/equipment at a program systems level.-Develops marketing strategy in conjunction with the facility Marketing department.-Oversees hospitalist physician staffing levels and recruitment/retention initiatives.-Meets monthly with hospitalist physician group to review financial performance and key program indicators.-Insures that the program staff follows all receivable/collection guidelines.-Ensures that the most cost effective vendors and products are being utilized. -Program and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement. -Evaluates each Program Directors performance and provides appropriate guidance and feedback.-Oversees the daily/monthly expenditures. -Counsels, disciplines and/or recommends termination of employees as required.-Recommends and approves professional development for staff.-Ensures regulatory compliance.-Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal program policies and procedures in conjunction with Physician Services standard policies and procedures. Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensures the program is in compliance with them.-Develops and maintains effective communications between all levels of personnel. -Ensures compliance with and knowledge of the companys Code of Conduct by all subordinates to ensure an ethical work environment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - This position requires the following minimum requirements:-Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.-Knowledge of fiscal management techniques.-Knowledge of health care administration systems.-Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.-Ability to use various computer systems and applications.-Ability to plan, organize and supervise.-Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process.-Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.-Ability to communicate clearly.EDUCATION-A Bachelors degree in Business Administration or healthcare-related field is required, with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration preferred. -MBA/MHA preferredEXPERIENCE-Three years work and supervisory experience in hospitalist program or physician practice management of multiple locations preferred.-Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, specifically medical program accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management.

Has responsibility to provide support and leadership for due diligence regarding acquisitions and divestitures: DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TODeliver creative and innovative solutions to CEOs related to the physician needs of HCA hospitals.Execute physician employment and income guarantee contracts in accordance with hospital CEO and Division management expectations while insuring compliance with all applicable regulatory authorities and HCA policies.Work effectively with HCA Physician Services management and support teams while serving as liaison to hospital CEOs and Division management to meet their physician needs.Work effectively with the physician recruiting function of HCA Physician Services and hospital liaisons to support the placement of qualified physicians in HCA markets.Participate as part of the HCA Physician Services team of Operations VPs to address planning, budgets, new products and services, compliance, and other physician practice issues.Oversee and manage HCA employed physician practices and insure they are operated in accordance with Physician Services standards and policies.Serve as a representative for HCA Physician Services products and services to physicians affiliated with HCA hospitals.Serve as the integral link between HCA Physician Services and the end users to enhance the use and effectiveness of its products and services.Ensure that HCA Physician Services compliance, training and education, policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs.Oversee and support the due diligence process of practice acquisitions and divestitures.Serve as Ethics and Compliance Officer.Display consistent behavior that enhances the public image of the organization as evidenced by professionalism in interactions with peers, subordinates, customers, (patients, families, physicians, payors, vendors, etc.)Provide ongoing orientation, identify and coordinate staff training for new and existing employees.Conduct performance evaluations and corrective disciplinary action with staff.Maintain strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee and physician relations.Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.
