Physician Practice Administrator - Beautiful Southern Oregon
The Physician Practice Administrator is responsible for management and operations of the medical group. In collaboration with the medical group medical director, he/she will oversee the operations, performance and growth of the medical group. He/she will work in partnership with the health system leadership to ensure positive working relationships with the hospital partners, positive financial results and collaborate on the strategic direction of the medical group. Initially the Administrator will need to lead the development of the infrastructure needed to support the employment of both specialist and primary care physicians. The Physician Practice Administrator reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. This individual will be extremely visible throughout the hospital managing the implementation of all aspects of physician employment. The Physician Practice Administrator will provide direction to the Hospital physician employment strategy for non hospital based physicians, work collaboratively with system peers who have support department responsibilities, and in turn, know how to best support the Chief Strategy Officer and keep him informed on appropriate issues. The person who will succeed best is one of high energy, who is able to build a solid relationship with physicians based on mutual respect, takes initiative, uses common sense, and is committed to the vision of the Hospital. This Position Requires:Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or a related field, or a combination of general and specialized education and direct experience equivalent to Bachelors degree in a related field. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with proven success in a physician practice management setting. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Physicians, Employees, Senior Management, outside counsel and vendors. Strong leadership skills; ability to inspire and motivate staff at all levels towards achieving a common objective. Leads by example, fostering an environment of trust and cooperation. Ability to formulate specific strategies and action plans to accomplish stated business objectives. Experience in developing, implementing and executing an operational plan. A strong understanding of physician office operations including; business office functions, appointment scheduling, human resource management, financial reporting and budgeting processes, customer service, and third party reimbursement. Experience in the development of new services, professional and ancillary, start-up operations of new practices and offices including design and construction related activities. Adept at physician practice assessment and analysis. Ability to perform duties in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency, and a commitment to efficiency. Proven bottom line management skills; a working knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost-control procedures. Working knowledge of information systems and applications within a physician group practice environment. Skill in examining and re engineering processes and procedures; creating and implementing new strategies focused on continuous improvement of operations. A strong understanding of physician compensation models to appropriately align physician incentives with System goals and initiatives.Preferred Qualifications:Masters Degree. Experience working in an Integrated Healthcare System. Familiarity with Medicare, OSHA, HIPAA and other compliance related activities typical within a physician office practice.
