The Director of Supply Chain for Tucson Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital oversees the efficient procurement of goods and services utilizing optimum quantity and pricing from appropriate sources. The magnitude of this spend exceeds $100 million annually. The director will meet the logistical needs of the system, support patient care and organizational goals by providing input to alternative approaches and programs. Experience in developing goals, objectives, annual budgets, and implementing short and long-term operational strategies for the department. Directs and oversee all aspects of procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of all supplies and equipment and directing and controlling the departments and supply chain functions including, Central Supply, Purchasing, General Stores, Receiving, Supply Distribution Services, Contracting, Patient Equipment Services Value Analysis, Asset Disposal, and System Integrity. Performs strategic planning, staff development and quality management of the supply chain function with the medical center. Position reports to the Sr. VP, CFO.Essential Functions but are not limited to:*Lead and manage all facility Supply Chain activities*Manages staff; interviews, hires and trains; evaluates employee performance; deals with performance problems as appropriate; delegates work assignments effectively.*Performs the role of supply chain expert for the medical center, working with senior management to develop and implement the vision and strategic direction for the enterprises supply chain function.*Acts as primary Supply Chain liaison to the GPO and other pertinent industry groups.*Provides procurement contract management services (for assigned contract types) across the enterprise; negotiates documents and controls adherence to the contracts once established. Maintains up-to-date contract database within MMIS. Seeks analytical documentation in support/rejection of CPO LOPs and LOCs, and coordinates the documentation of same to the CPO.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelors Degree in Procurement or related field. Experience: Must have acute hospital experience. Minimum (8) eight years of related experience including three years of supervisory or management role.Additional Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of procurement best practices, knowledge of budget management and projecting supply cost and department expenses, skill in negotiating, skill in evaluating performance and making recommendations for efficiency and improvements. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Bias for action and sustainable results.
