Summary Description of Role:Under general supervision, provides on-going business analysis and support for a suite of complex business information systems in order to improve and enhance business operations. Develops a solid understanding of how an application works including day-to-day work-flow analysis and design. Identifies opportunities for the improvement and maximization of existing functionality of current system(s) and operational workflow(s). With some direction and support in establishing methodology and project scope, identifies issues, analyzes data, proposes and implements solutions, and monitors and tracks results. Works with departments to develop and implement workflow/operational changes and determine system configuration. May provide support to higher level managers or serve as a team member on complex projects. Typically reports to manager or director.II. Key Responsibilities: Describe responsibilities that involve a minimum of 10% of employee�s time. Specify the end result and how it is accomplished.1. Participates in a wide variety of projects and/or application implementation plans with a focus on improving and enhancing system operations through effective business analysis. Works under the guidance and direction of a director on highly complex projects. Provides general support and analysis throughout the project life. May be responsible for smaller or less complex projects. 2. Assists in defining business requirements, communicating functional specifications, performing user acceptance testing and validation, working on go live planning and post implementation audits, and setting up system files. Often works under guidance or general direction in achieving these deliverables. May work with regional team or software vendor to achieve these goals.3. Works with the Software Vendor on trouble shooting problems and resolving operational questions and data anomalies. Interacts and communicates with appropriate internal staff regarding status, value and timing of the implementation of operational and systematic changes. Acts as resource and liaison between regional team and software vendor answering questions and soliciting information to gain an understanding of workflow issues and possible areas of concern. Answers most questions and provides guidance in workflow analysis but refers complex issues to director or higher level executive.4. Utilizes reports, audits or other methods to assess, analyze and evaluate opportunities for improvement in the areas of workflow operations and data integrity. Notes areas of concern and brings them to the attention of the manager. May recommend and effect needed changes. 5. Under the guidance and direction of the manager, conducts workflow analysis and identifies business inefficiencies, develops and implements processes and procedures to ensure the standardization of operations and minimize areas of inefficiency.6. Participates in the development of on-going documentation of efforts and analysis of final results including feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, functional specification, workflow development, and test plans. Receives some guidance in developing and selecting the methodology to be used for the analysis.7. Works with software vendor on building and maintaining features within the systems to improve workflow. Suggests functional changes to system configuration. Evaluates impact of system change or organizational change(s) on operations within company operating departments from clinical and/or financial perspectives. Revamps and/or standardizes workflows as necessitated by system changes and works with practice site staff or other customers to implement.8. Participates in developing training plans from operations and software vendor. Leads and conducts training sessions in a group or individual setting. Prepares all materials and system setup for the training session. 9. Documenting training results and audit session.10. Works with regional team and software vendor on building and maintaining features within the business information systems to improve workflow. Evaluates impact of system change or organizational change(s) on operations within company operating departments from clinical and/or financial perspectives. Works with department staff to implement workflow changes as necessitated by system changes. 11. Supports activities pertaining to the streamlining of functionality and operational workflow.12. May participate in meetings or subgroups. 13. Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company policies and procedures.III. Position Qualifications: To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have: * Bachelor�s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related discipline* Three to five years of relevant experience in Business Operations; specifically in long term care, meeting project milestones and deliverables and educating clinical/non-clinical end users. Experience with the CareMEDX software application is preferred. Strong analytic ability needed to perform data collection and analyses. Ability to translate user requests into system and workflow solutions. Ability to work collaboratively with team members to ensure coordinated efforts and clear communication. Excellent written and oral presentation skills and preferably experience introducing organizational change. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in discussions and explanations of complex systems. Working knowledge of any specialized processes, business functions or legal requirements (i.e., coding structures, medical terminology, HIPAA, etc.) necessary to perform duties. Ability to manage small projects and to effectively work as part of a team on larger projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Previous experience with internet or web-based tools helpful.
