Materials Technician needed in Clackamas, OR!
Under indirect supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, works within the facility/or assigned areas to establish and maintain adequate supplies to support the area in the delivery of patient care using established Policy and Procedures to ensure acquisition is done in a timely, cost-effective manner.Essential Functions:- Supply replenishment: Inventory, pick, receive, inspect, store and distribute approved supplies and linen (as applicable) according to established guidelines. Process returns and report picking errors.- Provide inventory expertise: Review usage statistics via on-line system and reports to identify supply utilization, use analytical skills to set and maintain appropriate inventory levels, advise customers of inventory trends and negotiate with department coordinators to promote cost effective inventory management.- Act as liaison with customers for all MSD services, determine needs and select appropriate course of action to fulfill their supply needs.- Process orders: Prepare and enter routine replenishment orders on line, review status of orders, update inventory lists as appropriate, print and replace PAR lists.Secondary Functions:- Fill linen and supply orders: Accurately interpret and fill customer orders requested via phone, fax, requisition or pick list.- Perform recycling functions: Process goods for recycling (batteries, cardboard, toners, etc.). Process and prepare surplus property for ship outs or deliver inbound to customers.- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor in support of customers or department operations.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:- 2 year of inventory control experience- 1 year of materials handling experience- Demonstrated proficiency in a Tech I position for a minimum of 6 months- Demonstrated customer-focused service skills.- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills- Demonstrated adaptability to changes in work environment and related assignment- PC Proficiency- Effective communication skills, both oral and written- Demonstrated effective time management skills- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with multiple levels of staff- Able to maintain a mature problem solving attitude while dealing with interpersonal conflict, hazardous conditions, hostility or time demands.- Able to lift 50- 65 lbs. routinely and carry distances of 100 feet or less- Able to push a cart weighing up to 350 lbs.- Able to lift/stoop/bend repeatedly during an 8 hour shift- Demonstrated ability to work with indirect supervision- Record of good attendancePreferred Qualifications:- 2 years of experience equivalent Materials Management/Supply Chain experience- 2 years of customer service experience- Knowledge of Kaiser Permanente System- Medical terminology and Medical supply familiarity- Knowledge of hospital supply distribution- Knowledge of safety policy and procedure- Organizational skills
