- Bachelors DegreeDL Drivers License3-5 yearsJob Summary: The Director of Compliance is primarily responsible for overseeing privacy and information security program operation integrity and ensuring compliance with all aspects of legislative and regulatory requirements under state and federal law to include, but not limited to, CMIA, LPS, the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and HITECH. This person will be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of a privacy and security infrastructure within the organization to include policies and procedures, formal risk review mechanisms, and on-going training and educational activities. Responsible for ensuring consistency and uniformity in the application of program policies and procedures for campus hospitals, outpatient clinics and satellite offices. Responsible for the oversight and development of audit plans, effective tools and methodologies to ensure that the organization is appropriately monitored for privacy and information security compliance. Assists the Executive Director of Compliance as necessary to meet the objectives of the Compliance Program and established Compliance Plans. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Specifications: Bachelors Degree required; preferably in Business, HIA, or related field. RHIA preferred. Masters Degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in implementing and overseeing privacy and security infrastructure at a management level in a healthcare setting required 5 years experience preferred and preferably in an academic medical center environment. Demonstrated experience and skill in dealing with patients, the public, and external regulatory entities, such as the Office of Civil Rights and the Department of Public Health is required. Demonstrated experience in understanding the operational impacts of federal and state regulations related to privacy and security and mitigating risk is required. Privacy and Security certification through AHIMA or other nationally recognized health information certification program is required or must be obtained within one year of hire. Valid California drivers license. Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment essential to the position.
