This position has oversight responsibility for the clinical and non-clinical services delivered to patients in the pain management facilities.
The Director of Operations must be a driven, self directing and motivated individual. This position is directly responsible for overseeing the daily operations of each pain center and ensuring compliance for the facility, patient safety and satisfaction, and the oversight of the pain center manager“s performance. The person in this position will establish the protocols and work flow processes and will support the opening of additional pain centers.Primary Job Responsibilities:-Plans and organizes activities related to pain services to ensure that professional clinical services are delivered to patients in accordance with instructions of physician and administrative procedures-Coordinates activities with other departments, patient care units and agencies-Develops, implements and coordinates quality management, utilization review and patient care programs.-Supervises the Pain Center Managers and nurses on problems and interpretation of pain center policies to ensure that patient needs are met.-Establishes orientations and in-service training for staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.-Develops and implements marketing strategy for programs and services.-Formulates and administers the budget.-Encourages and monitors cost containment measures.-Recommends acquisition of capital equipment.-Engages in studies and investigations related to improving the delivery of services.-Ensures and enforces compliance for all clinical operations. -Develop a staffing and business plan for each pain center.-Review established policies and procedures for compliance and make changes as necessary. -Oversee the coordination of patient and physician caseload.Ensures that patient information and records are maintained in a confidential manner -Ensures a safe work environment and adheres to safety policies and OSHA standards. -Provides written evaluations of departmental staff per established facility protocols.-Liaison between the facility and the billing department. -Other job responsibilities as delegated by management.-Reviews payor contracts and negotiates for higher reimbursement when appropriate.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:1.BA in management, finance or nursing. MBA preferred2. 5 yrs. experience in pain management 3. Extensive knowledge in pain billing and electronic medical records. CPC, Cognos and E-Clinical preferred 4.Experience in a management role within a healthcare setting where a balance of clinical and management responsibilities are demonstrated5. Excellent communication and presentation skills6.
