It is the only facility in South Carolinaand one of 70 in the entire countryto receive this status.The Staff Educator for Adult Acute Care develops and coordinates educational activities, including continuing education and orientation.Key Responsibilities:* Plans, coordinates and conducts staff orientation in specified areas. Assists in evaluation and revision of orientation on an ongoing basis.* Collaborates with others, as appropriate, in identifying, planning, providing and evaluating ongoing/continuing education, including ongoing technology updates.* Assists unit/department managers in competency evaluation and makes recommendations as appropriate.* Serves as an educational resource for nursing care. Incorporates results of quality assurance data in identifying educational needs.* Participates in mandatory training (i.e., CPR) and other requested in-service training as applicable to area.Requirements:Education: Bachelor degree from an accredited school of nursingExperience: minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience; prior education experience preferred Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina; CPR certified/instructor; may require ACLS certification or other specialty education/training depending on clinical area of assignment Special Training: must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to treat patients of all ages; must have a strong clinical knowledge base and possess the ability to teach and incorporate adult learning principles At Palmetto Health we believe everyone should love the job theyre in.
