It is the only facility in South Carolina and one of 70 in the entire country to receive this status.The Dental Center Administrator is responsible for managing the dental center. Management responsibilities include planning, staffing, and directing the activities and operations of the dental center to include patient care, budget, billing and collections, compliance and planning. The administrator is responsible for supervision of dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff in the dental center; for facilitating departmental projects and for developing and implementing marketing plans. Also acts as a liaison between staff, dentists and administration.Key Responsibilities:People:- Manage human resources by determining qualifications and selecting qualified employees, working with staff to set appropriate goals, monitoring progress toward achieving goals, providing training for employees, and resolving disciplinary issues.- Develop educational materials for dentists and residents to improve documentation and maximize reimbursement. Administer department educational programs.- Achieves specified results under the People Pillar of Performance.Service:- Implement programs and policies to ensure that practice consistently provides customer service consistent with the organizations goals.- Achieves specified results under the Service Pillar of Performance.Quality:- Manage the environment by developing, implementing and monitoring processes to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks; preventing accidents and injuries and maintaining safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors.- Implement policies and procedures to ensure that practices consistently provide safe and effective patient care and meet the organizations quality goals.- Continuously assess and improve the departments Quality and Performance Improvement activities through data, analyzing the data, implementing educational programs - Achieves specified results under the Quality Pillar of Performance.Finance:- Develop and manage the department budgets to ensure that the practices meet profitability expectations as outlined in the yearly budget and organizations financial goals.- Provide effective leadership by: coordinating operations between registration and other ancillary areas to ensure quality of billing information; communicating with third party and governmental carriers in regard to claims processing difficulties or data; representing the department in dealing with internal and external contacts.- Manage information by providing information systems and data management for department operations and performance improvement.- Achieves specified results under the Finance Pillar of Performance.Growth:- Develop and implement growth strategies to include new locations, expansion of services within current practice, or other initiatives as identified by the organizations growth goals.- Continually assess, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to dental and medical equipment; arrange for - Achieves specified results under the Growth Pillar of Performance.Requirements:Education: BS in Business or Healthcare Administration required; MHA or MBA preferred.Experience: 5 years progressive management experience within a healthcare practice setting; dental practice experience preferred.Number and Type of Employees Supervised: 15 to 20 administrative and clinical employeesSpecial Training: Thorough knowledge of day to day operations of a professional healthcare office including medical/dental terminology and coding. Proficiency with personal computer and patient registration software required.
