The Director of Ambulatory Care Systems will be responsible for coordination and oversight of all aspects of Information Technology delivery for PeaceHealth Medical Group. They are active member of the PHMG leadership team as well as a member of the HID Director Council. NATURE AND SCOPE:The Director of Ambulatory Care Systems will interact with staff and executive level individuals across the PeaceHealth system. They will directly report to the HID Senior Director for Applications and Development but will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Administrator of the integrated PeaceHealth Medical group. While the Director of Ambulatory Care Systems will have a staff of systems professionals reporting to them, much of their back end support will continue to be provided by HIDs systems and technology groups. The incumbent will draw on highly effective technical, interpersonal and negotiation skills as they interact with key stakeholders to ensure the effective standardization of information systems across PeaceHealth Medical Group and PeaceHealth as a whole. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Models and promotes the desired PeaceHealth culture through a leadership style that embraces the PeaceHealth Leadership Model -Provides administrative leadership -Management and professional development of direct and indirect reports -Budget oversight including recommendations to PeaceHealth Medical Group Leadership Team and the HID Senior Director on fiscal year budgeting -Responsible for effectively allocating staff and resources in the support of the medical group -Accountable for key oversight of major information system project implementations for the medical group -Assist in developing, maintaining and implementing a long term IS Plan for the medical group with the goal of keeping it well integrated with the overall PeaceHealth IS Plan. -Supports and promotes compliance with the HID capacity management strategy -Supports and promotes software development standards across HID. -Effectively implements the PeaceHealth Vision 2012 tactical plan specific to their teams-Ensure HID internal processes, such as capacity management, resource allocation, and issue resolution, are effective -Serves as an effective team member and advisor within the HID Leadership and PeaceHealth Medical Group Teams. -Assures that all responsibilities are performed consistent with the deliberate plans of the organization; maintain a sensitive, caring, and safe environment for customers, employees, and others; and operates within the limits of approved budgets. -Represent the organization well at all times; support its mission, goals, and objectives; participate as a team player, constantly supporting others; set an example of high personal and professional conduct for employees and others; provide an atmosphere where employees can develop professionally, consistent with their abilities and the needs of the organization.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:- Bachelors degree in business, computer science or relevant healthcare field. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.- Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.Experience/skills:- At least 10+ years experience in the information system field is required with substantial experience directly related to this position. - Experience in the role of CIO/IS Director/IS Manager for a medium/large medical group is preferred Experience with the selection and implementation of an Ambulatory EMR is preferred- Experience as part of the leadership team for a medium/large medical group is preferred- Experience in building an IS organization from the ground up is preferred- A broad knowledge of the healthcare delivery system outside of the ambulatory care setting is preferred- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.- Proven leadership ability.- Proven ability to conceptualize issues and develop pragmatic solutions.- An understanding of the trends and concepts of information technology in the ambulatory health care environment.- Demonstrated ability to integrate new technologies into an environment with complexity comparable to PeaceHealth.- Demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Core Values of PeaceHealth.
