The Alaska Heart Institute is the dominant cardiology group in the state of Alaska. We are recruiting an experienced CEO with cardiology specific experience.Additional information about this opportunity:GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Develops and monitors organizational policy in conjunction with other management personnel and the owners of AHI. Responsible for the overall operation of the organization, including patient care and contract relations, as well as activities that relate to the future growth of the AHI. Ensures a focus on customer satisfaction in all decision-making.EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Business/Management field required. MHA, or MBA, or MS in health administration or business administration preferred. Professional development courses in health care management.EXPERIENCE: Seven years of executive level experience including five years of direct or commensurate experience in the administration of a cardiology practice with 5 or more physicians.OTHER: Status as a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) or Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) desired.KNOWLEDGE:1.Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and management sufficient to direct and oversee clinic operations.2.Knowledge of the purposes, organization and policies of the communitys health systems sufficient to interact with other healthcare providers.3.Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care.4.Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity.5.Knowledge of the principles and practices regarding health information systems including electronic medical records and electronic image management systems.SKILLS:1.Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve clinics mission.2.Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action3.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third party payers, patients and the public.4.Skills in organizing work, delegating and achieving goals and objectives.5.Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.6.Skill in both written and verbal communications that allow for outstanding communication/negotiation/persuasion and effective interaction with wide variety of individuals.ABILITIES:1.Ability to assume responsibility and exercise appropriate authority over physicians (in conjunction with the executive committee).2. Ability to assume responsibility and exercise appropriate authority over other providers, clinic and administrative staff.3.Ability to manage change and direct the problem-solving process.4.Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards.5.Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.6.Ability to analyze and prepare comprehensive reports.7.Ability to communicate and collaborate with staff, government officials and the public.ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment.
