The primary function of this Sr. level position is to manage the comprehensive compliance strategies in place to ensure that the organization conforms to applicable laws and regulations relating to its medical billing activities.
This position also directs all coding department activities related to billing operations coding services; physician/provider coding education; performance management; training and budget control. Position ProfileThis position reports to Chief Executive Officer (owner) and serves as a key member of the Sr. Officer Team. The requirements includes a minimum of a degree in business administration; health administration; health information management or related field; five years of experience in the management of multi-specialty medical billing, coding and information systems is required; and strong verbal and written communications skills are essential. Principal Duties 1. Establish Coding Policy for the organization.2. Direct all coding department activities including physician/employee education, coding service productivity, performance management and quality assurance.3. Develop strategies to maintain and promote HIPPA; OIG and Fraud and Abuse compliance.4. Maintain and continuously improve the organizations Compliance Manual.5. Conduct billing risk assessments and develop related physician/employee training programs.6. Participate in strategic planning and research. 7. Function as a principal resource to client physicians, nurses, office administration in the area of procedural and diagnosis coding.8. Closely monitor changes in laws, regulations and accreditation standards as they apply to multi specialty clients and the organizations coding and compliance program.
