Brack Emergency Room Responsibilities 1. Insures proper operation of all medical equipment assigned, minimizing downtime and interruption of service to meet customers’ needs. 2. Develops, implements and maintains an effective system of documentation that addresses the inventory, availability, current condition, useful life and financial expenditures relative to all equipment assigned. 3. Designs and maintains a reporting system with required documentation necessary for compliance with federal, state and Seton policies and regulations to relative to all assigned equipment. 4. Provides training and in-service to Plant Operations service technicians and users of the assigned medical equipment. 5. Communicates effectively with department management to acquire internal and external resources necessary to maintain, repair and/or replace equipment assigned. 6. Establishes and maintains communication links with all users of assigned equipment to establish schedules for maintenance and repair of equipment that is essential in the performance of duties. 7. Reads and interprets blueprints, operator’s manuals, electronic schematics and other technical information necessary to troubleshoot and repair malfunction equipment. 8. Collaborates with other technicians (i.e., plumbers, electricians, biomedical techs, etc.) when necessary to accomplish repair or replacement of assigned equipment. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of one year of formal training education specific to interpretation of various types of technical literature, electronic troubleshooting and repair, plumbing, electrical controls and/or related fields of study is required. An Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred. Three (3) years experience in equipment maintenance to include a working knowledge of building utility supply systems. Skills Must have strong organization and work prioritizing skills an must be able to perform duties with minimal direction/supervision. Strong interpersonal/communication skills are essential. Must be able to design, develop and present department policy and procedures which relate to maintenance, repair and proper operation of the assigned medical equipment.
