Spencer Stuart has been retained by Walgreen Company to assist in recruiting executives for the Corporate Innovation Team, which was recently launched as a major initiative for the company. This team will be charged with enabling Walgreens to achieve its vision of being the healthcare solutions company for the communities they serve. This team will establish new products and services that demonstrate to their customers (consumers, patients, payors and providers) that Walgreens is focused on quality health and wellness services that are accessible and affordable to all.The Senior Director, Corporate Clinical Innovation will be responsible for working across all of the Walgreens business units to develop and execute a clinical strategy which focuses on clinically sound methodologies. He or she will be involved in all aspects of new product and service development across the company and be a champion for innovation. The successful candidate will ideally be a physician (M.D.) who thrives on innovation and creativity as well as possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, yet can work within the framework of a $60 billion company. This individual will be able to develop the commitment, resources and focus within the organization to affect the desired outcomes.This individual will: Possess five to 10 years of experience developing innovative clinical products and services for a healthcare services company that is respected for innovation.Understand the various constituents in healthcare and their impact.Use metrics to measure effectiveness and work well with multiple internal stakeholders in a highly matrixed company.Be comfortable in speaking at medical conferences and meetings, representing Walgreens in the marketplace.
