Housekeeping Manager
The Manager of Building Services reports to the Director of Building Services. Responsible for the planning, organization, development and direction for the overall operation of the Building Services Department. All department functions and operations must be managed and achieved in accordance with all JCAHO and federal, state, and local standards and guidelines to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. Must be able to workOn-call hrs. And weekends as needed. Experience - High School Diploma Required. Bachelor degree desired but not required. Must have experience as a manager or director of Housekeeping and Linen Department. This person must be knowledgeable with linen distribution, inventories and par levels. Must be knowledgeable of scheduling, payroll management, and supply ordering, inventory and productivity and budgeting experience mandatory. Must be effectively able to communicate both written and orally.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 5 yrs. Environmental Services experience required. A minimum of 5yrs. Experience in a Hospital Setting is required. Knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, and Infection Control guidelines is required.Must possess strong leadership skills and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment. Must be adept at leading professional and non-professional personnel. Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deal with people at different organizational levels both inside and outside the hospital. Must have well developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing Building Services practices.
