JOB SUMMARYResponsible for providing daily supervision of the operations of the Performance Improvement Department to promote and monitor procedural compliance, staff development, and continual process improvement, while promoting customer and employee satisfaction. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of projects. Prepares reports for teams, Director, and/or Administration regarding the status of projects. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Multitasks; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with BSN or Bachelor degree in an appropriate related field, masters preferred.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS1. Three to five years in a hospital quality, risk management, statistical decision support, regulatory compliance, or care / utilization management.2. Demonstrated application of process / performance improvement principles and tools. 3. Familiar with a variety of Performance Improvement concepts, practices, and procedures.4. Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis and charts. Strong computer skills (Microsoft applications). 5. One year management experience or equivalent training.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED1. Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.2. For Registered Nurses: Current licensure to practice in the State of Texas.3. For HIM professionals: Registered Health Information Administrator.SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects. Proficiency in information systems, PI tools, word processing, and data base management. Basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques. Knowledge of regulatory standards as they apply to departmental and hospital operations. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
