Team Leader, Systems Analyst Program Development - LIS

Responsible for leading teams of I.S. professionals on large, complex projects within the Laboratory IS department.Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years experience in laboratory information systems. Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. MEDITECH experience is also required. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as have excellent project management skills. Visual Basic/Boston Workstation experience is needed and experience writing NPR reports. Personnel management experience is preferred.

As the Applications Project Manager you will plan and manage the delivery of small to moderately complex business and clinical system solutions and associated application technical support services in support of UMass Memorial business objectives and ongoing operations. You will manage the System Development Life Cycle, that is, systems and project planning, estimating, management, execution, and implementation. Additionally, you will work closely with the functional business groups, the appropriate IS resources, and vendors to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of systems solutions.Qualifications:A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. A minimum five to eight years of complex project management experience within Business/Clinical applications and IS Infrastructure projects from planning through completion under strict deadlines is also needed. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, and an in-depth knowledge of systems and network infrastructures used in health care are required. The technical qualifications are dependent upon focus of the projects. Previous clinical informatics experience is preferred as well as an understanding of traditional System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. The following skills are also needed:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to lead a business transition process that leverages technology (Process Reengineering/ Redesign).Excellent presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences.Proficient with all MS Office applications. Experience with MS Project is required. PMP certification is desired.

UMass Memorial Health Care is currently embarking on the implementation of a new Core Hospital Information System deploying both Revenue Cycle and Clinical Applications to all facilities in the UMass Memorial Health Care enterprise. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team to implement the Revenue Cycle application suite.Qualified candidates will have five to seven years experience deploying applications in a healthcare setting. We are searching for a self-starter with strong interpersonal, analytical and critical thinking skills who is comfortable communicating with all levels of personnel. Candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and have an aptitude to adapt quickly to change.This position will reside at the Department of Information Services new offices at the Worcester Business Center, in Worcester, Massachusetts.Position Qualifications:Previous experience working in a health care environment is required. Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. Minimum 5 years of experience. Formal training in project management; professional certification, PMP preferred. Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with MS Office advanced applications, MS Project and MS Access preferred. Experience with Revenue Cycle application implementations including, Patient Access, Patient Accounting, Contract Management. Experience with Siemens Soarian preferred.Experience with other Healthcare administrative and financial applications (HIM, Scheduling, General Accounting) a plus.
