Detailed Position Description The Administrative Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, leadership and management of a Tier II Adult Emergency Department. The Administrative Director will:- Collaborate with the Chair, Emergency Medicine to ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality. - Collaborate with the Chief, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Director, RBC Ambulatory Services, Head Nurse, RBC Emergency Services to ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality. - Develop and lead a strategic and operational focus on volume growth and enhanced patient care deliverables in collaboration with ED Physician leadership within UHCMC and throughout the System.- Ensure profitability through revenue and expense management.- Ensure operations function cost effectiveness while providing quality service by planning, proposing and managing the capital and operating budgets.- Drive employee engagement through strong team support and leadership capacity of staff and managers.- Oversee operations and department expansion from 41 beds (75K patient visits) to 70 beds (90K patient visits). - Additional responsibilities include integrating and managing all Emergency Services divisions; leading and developing the staff; building strong teams; and allocating resources effectively. Position Requirements At least seven years management experience in healthcare with a strong business aptitude, and excellent financial management experience. At least five years medical center emergency department experience. Demonstrated management and effective leadership skills in a clinical setting. Proven skill in consensus building, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Additional requirements include outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communications skills; hands-on use of electronic health records. Education Requirements Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, business or Clinical Specialty. Graduate Degree (MHA/MBA/MS) in healthcare administration, business, or clinical specialty field preferred.
